Once again, the most exciting and colourful fashion fair in Florence — „Pitti Uomo“ — has come to an end. No, it is not getting any easier for men: pulling on a shirt, tying a tie, grabbing any suit from the wardrobe and heading out — those days are over. The dandy is back. Men are wearing bold, eye-catching suits, shirts can never be patterned enough, and it does not stop there. Then come the socks — certainly not black or dark blue; the more colourful the better. And now the great challenge: which tie to choose? And if that is not enough of an adventure in front of the wardrobe in the morning, one can go further still and consider which bracelets, and how many, to wear on the wrist alongside one’s watch. Now the outfit is complete. Not to forget the pocket square. Is anything really matching? No one can say for sure, because a man mixes whatever he can mix.
But BEWARE — not everyone can afford to be a dandy in daily life. Being a dandy is a mindset and a long process that has to develop over time. So enjoy it with caution, or it can quickly appear ridiculously flamboyant.
